Ferreira, Mercês, Carvalho & Associados Law Firm, previously known as “Bernardo Ferreira e Fernando Carvalho – Sociedade de Advogados”, was founded on November 14th, 2000 by partners Bernardo Ferreira and Fernando Carvalho. The Practice is registered in the Portuguese Bar Association under number 50/2000. Its head office is located at Rua Abranches Ferrão, 10 – 15º E, in one of Lisbon’s most prominent service areas, next to the numerous facilities available at the Loja do Cidadão.
Since its foundation, the Practice has focused its activity in the provision of high-quality and thorough legal services with close attention to detail and permanent monitoring of all matters by the partners, leading to very close relationships with its clients, be they corporate or individual.
FMC is a full service law firm, experienced in all fields of law, with a particular focus on labour, commercial, civil and administrative law, as well as criminal and infringement law. The tax department has, since its inception, been led by Susana Mercês in the capacity of external collaborator and, since early 2016, in the capacity of partner of the Firm.
Over the years, law services provided by FMC have included a wide range of corporations in the following industries: oil, food (meat, plant protection products, supermarkets), construction, metallurgical, air-conditioning, high-voltage energy, elevators, public projects, automobile, mass media, insurance and banking, information technology.
For the duration of its trajectory, the Practice has aimed at providing comprehensive support and counsel covering the entirety of corporate activity, namely, its dealings with human resources, dealings with the State, its institutions and authorities, dealings with business partners and dealings with clients, both from a positive standpoint (contracts, sales and various projects) and from a negative one (insolvencies, debt relief, debt recovery and business revitalization).
Notwithstanding a professional expertise in law and legal counseling that covers over three decades and a quarter of a century, the Practice’s associates are always alert to the challenges of the future posed by a permanently shifting society and daily legal developments.
